Reps speaker inaugurates committee to legislate Rivers Assembly
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has inaugurated a 21-member ad-hoc committee to legislate in place of the suspended Rivers State House of Assembly.
Member-designates from the six geo-political zones attended the event held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
In an address, Abbas told the panel that its mandate was non-partisan, a call to legislate to ensure good governance, peace, and prosperity of the state.

“Your task is to oversee Rivers State following Mr President’s emergency proclamation.You must not be partisan or biased,” the speaker said.
The House Leader who doubles as the Chairman of the Committee, Prof Julius Ihonvbere, Ali Isah (PDP, Gombe) who is the Deputy Chairman, Idris Wase (North Central), Aliyu Muktar (North East), Sada Soli (North West), Iduma Igariwey (South East), Shehu Rijau, Wole Oke, Akara Amadi, Patrick Umoh, and Isa Anka and others attended the event.
